Aerodrome control instrument and Approach control procedural module is designed to impart knowledge and skills to student air traffic controllers (ATC) in order to enable them to receive a student certificate of competency for Aerodrome Control Instrument rating for Tower ADI (TWR) and an Approach Control Procedural (APP) rating.
The training is composed of both theoretical lessons and events, followed by practical applications in a classroom and in a 3D tower simulator. The theory lessons consist of new subjects as well as reviews and enhancements of subjects from the Basic ATC module such as meteorology, navigation, aircraft and aerodromes. The simulator training is conducted in a 3D tower simulator and in an approach control procedural simulator.
After the completion of the course the students shall have skills to perform Aerodrome and Approach Control Service safely, expeditiously, orderly and according to rules and regulations.
Entry Point North hires instructors from a current operational ATC environment. This enables us to maintain a very close link with new developments and a high level of competency. Throughout the training, all students operate in a teamwork simulator environment, enhancing a well structured learning process.
The module follows closely the Eurocontrol Common Core Content specifications and prerequisites, EU standards and Best Practice agreements.
