The Terminal Control (TCL) rating endorsement entitles the holder to provide an air traffic control service with the use of radar in airspace designated as a terminal area and/or adjacent sectors designated for the provision of terminal control.
The module is designed to impart knowledge and skills to student air traffic controllers (ATC) in order to enable them to receive a student certificate of competency for a Terminal Control endorsement (TCL).
Terminal Control is an endorsement training module for the transition sectors between area and approach. Terminal Controllers feed traffic from the area working environment into an approach sector making use of holding to assist them during the highest traffic periods. Upon completion of the course the students are prepared to handle traffic within some of the busiest TMA’s in Europe.
The training is composed of theoretical lessons followed by practical applications. Most of the effort is focused on handling traffic in the simulator where a specially designed generic airspace in a multi-controller environment is used for practicing co-operation.
Entry Point North hires instructors from a current operational ATC environment. This enables us to maintain a very close link with new developments and a high level of competency. Throughout the training, all students operate in a teamwork simulator environment, enhancing a well structured learning process.
The module follows closely the Eurocontrol Common Core Content specifications and prerequisites, EU standards and Best Practice agreements.
