Both the Single European Sky regulatory framework and EUROCONTROL’s Safety Regulatory Requirement (ESARR) 5 ATM Services Personnel include obligations to ensure that controllers are assessed.

This course deals with the processes used to evaluate the knowledge and skills of student air traffic controllers taking their first operational competency, and for continuing competence. Participants are given tools to conduct both practical and oral assessments to determine the initial operational competency of a controller in a professional manner.
Working as an assessor, evaluating colleagues, is a challenging role. There is a need for clearly defined roles, professional communication skills, and a thorough knowledge base in order to handle potential conflict situations efficiently and effectively.
This course will provide candidates with the knowledge and skills to operate as competent assessors. The Assessor Course can be conducted at Entry Point North or at the customer’s own premises depending upon the customer’s preferences.
