This week we started delivering ICAO ATSEP Basic training to Aerotel, which is the ATSEP provider for the Jamaican Civil Aviation Authority. It is the first time that we have sold training to a company located in Jamaica, and we are proud to extend our delivery scope into the ICAO Americas region.
All of Aerotel’s existing and newly hired ATSEPs participate in this course, which provides them with a good basic understanding of the different aspects of the ATSEP specialisations. We have tailored the course material in close collaboration with Aerotel, to include relevant summary information for the ICAO Americas region. After the participants have completed the course, Aerotel will be compliant with the recommendations of ICAO Doc 10057 Manual on ATSEP Competency-Based Training and Assessment.
Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, we deliver the course in a Virtual Classroom at local Kingston time, with the course instructor located in Sweden. The training is split into two parts. Part 1 is designed to give basic knowledge of operational and technical aspects of ATM and prepares the participants for the Equipment Specific Training. This part is 10 days in duration and is concluded with a test. Part 2 is a three-day delivery, designed to give participants a thorough understanding of human factors, safety management, and teamwork.
