Following a successful public procurement award, Entry Point North was once again selected to deliver ATC Refresher training for all operational ATCOs of Albcontrol. This year the training was delivered in combination with Free Route Airspace (FRA) training for the Area controllers. It was performed to all Albcontrol Area, Approach and Tower controllers during the period March to May and took place at Entry Point Central, Budapest, one of the training sites of Entry Point North.
In total 78 ATCOs were divided into 8 groups receiving 4-8 days intensive training consisting of one day common theory on Human Factor with a focus on stress and fatigue within ATS. It was followed by simulation training on a local Albanian airspace and covered various unusual and emergency situations. The training resulted in individual detailed performance reports and diplomas upon the successful completion of the training.
The feedback received from the courses participants was excellent with all appraising the highly skilled instructors and pseudo pilots, challenging and interesting exercises and overall an enjoyable training atmosphere at Entry Point Central.
“We are pleased with the training provided at Entry Point Central. Doing the yearly Refresher training for all our ATCOs is part of our continuation training scheme – not only meeting the requirements from the Albanian CAA, but more importantly, ensuring safety and continuous development of our operational staff – says Sokol Reveli, Head of Operational Division, at Albcontrol.
