Course aim

The course is designed to impart knowledge and skills to students that are necessary for them to receive a student air traffic controller license for an Area Control Procedural rating.

Course objectives

After completion of the course, the student will have the basic knowledge, skills and understanding to manage traffic safely and according to the rules and regulations of Document 4444, in an area procedural environment.

Course overview

The course focuses on specific tasks, separation standards and methods used in a procedural environment. This will be taught by theoretical sessions and practical exercises in a procedural simulator. The training is conducted in a generic airspace suitable for this type of air traffic control.

It is important that the student has the correct prerequisites - a full initial training as mentioned below, as well as, meet the authority’s requirement for an ATC license and possess a good level of English language comprehension.

Prerequisites

Approved results from the Basic ATC course and ACS+RAD course (which includes Approach Control Surveillance rating with Radar endorsement) taken at Entry Point North or another EU-recognised training facility.

Compliance with regulations

The course is compliant with Commission Regulation (EU) 2015/340 and EUROCONTROL Common Core Content Edition 2.0.
The course is approved by the Swedish CAA.
Entry Point North academy is certified as a Training Organization according to European Regulations by the Swedish CAA.

The open ACP course that is planned at Entry Point North Spain from 7 May until 3 June 2019 also includes APP, and is therefore 1 week longer than usual.
