Innovative training equipment

At our training centres, we use state-of-the-art NorthSim (ROSE) simulators from the German-based company ROSE Simulation GmbH, as well as TOPSKY/COOPANS/EUROCAT simulators. The training positions are flexible and can be grouped or ungrouped quickly when needed. Depending on the training requirements, we can run exercises in stand-alone or suite mode (executive and planner), groups, or in full “control centre” configuration. All positions are connected to the same network, which provides great flexibility in the use of the simulator facilities, and enables combined exercises, e.g. from TWR to ACC.

360° Tower Simulator

This simulator is physically 360°. Each of the 25, 75” displays is driven in 4K, making the scenery and airplanes look just as authentic and distinctive as if you were looking out of the window of a control tower. Each of the 7 controller positions consists of one ultrawide display for radar, ground radar and AUX, one touch display for communication, and one touch display for the lighting panel.

270°/360° Tower Simulators

These simulators have a physical 270° setup but can display a full 360° view. Each display is driven in 4K, making the scenery and airplanes look just as authentic and distinctive as if you were looking out of the window of a control tower. Each controller position consists of one ultrawide display for radar, ground radar and AUX, one touch display for communication, and one touch display for the lighting panel.

Two of our 270° tower simulators feature 22 portrait-mode 65” UHD displays. These simulators have a total diameter of 8 meters, are 1,5 meters high and can provide up to five TWR controller positions.

Two 270° tower simulators feature 16 portrait-mode 65” UHD displays. These simulators can be operated with up to two controller positions and as many pilots as required.

180° Tower Simulators

Each of our twenty-four 180° tower simulators is equipped with a 3D display system consisting of three or four UHD displays up to 65”. Each of the towers includes up to two controller positions.

Each controller position consists of one ultrawide display for radar, ground radar and AUX, one touch display for communication, and one touch display for the lighting panel.

Radar Simulators

In its standard configuration, a radar/pilot position consists of one 43” radar display and one touch-display for communication.

COOPANS Simulators

We have two different types of COOPANS simulators, which are based on Thales’ Topsky product. One (based in Shannon) is equipped only for training, while the others (based both in Shannon and in Dublin) can be configured for either training or for contingency use. All COOPANS simulators are equipped with 2Kx2K displays.
