ATSEP Seminar 2025

The challenges for ATSEPs in ATM

at Turning Torso, 2-3 October 2025

Highlights from our two days at Turning Torso

During two inspiring days at the top of Turning Torso in Malmö, we hosted the ATSEP Seminar 2025. Participants joined us from across Europe, with guests travelling from Ghana and Thailand, to discuss the future of training and safety in Air Traffic Management.

The programme explored key topics shaping the coming years. Magnus Molbaek from SESAR shared insights on SWIM and initial trajectory information. Callum Winship from AirNav Ireland presented lessons on AI and anomaly detection in ATM systems. Sebastian Wagner and Ulf Herbig discussed how to modernise ATSEP continuation training with trust, relevance and realism. We ended day one with a panel on how AI can support the training chain, from design to assessment.

On day two, Lea Sophie Trampitsch Vink highlighted the importance of human performance in an AI driven environment, and Frank Apeagye addressed the value of standardising ATSEP competencies worldwide.

Events like this matter because they help us exchange ideas, learn from one another and build stronger links across the community. We host and take part in seminars like this to contribute, to listen and to move our industry forward together.
