Course aim

The GRF course aims to establish a thorough understanding of the runway condition assessment and reporting process, including the Global Reporting Format (GRF) and its role in enhancing flight safety. Learners will understand the end-to-end process of a Runway Condition Assessment and Reporting, including the Runway Condition Assessment Matrix (RCAM). Learners will able to decode the Runway Condition Report (RCR) and the SNOWTAM. Additionally, the course explains how critical runway condition information is disseminated to pilots and air traffic controllers.

Upon completion of this course, learners will have knowledge of:

  • The need for and background to the EU regulation regarding runway condition assessment and reporting
  • The runway condition assessment and reporting process
  • Reporting formats
  • How information regarding runway conditions is disseminated

How you will learn

The standard access is 90 days, and we estimate that half a day is needed to complete the course.

EPN on demand provides learners with complete flexibility and control over their learning experience. It’s a self-paced course, allowing the learners to access digital materials such as reading resources, videos, quizzes and interactive content whenever it suits their schedule. The learner automatically receives a certification upon completion.

Prerequisites

The Global Reporting Format course is designed for aerodrome personnel and other relevant aviation professionals involved in condition reporting. There are no prerequisites for taking part in this course.

Compliance with regulations

The course will cover EASA regulations requiring proper training for aerodrome personnel involved in condition reporting. The objectives include knowledge and understanding, which is compliant with Rules for Aerodromes (Regulation (EU).
